3D Design & Rendering
Every change is cheap in a render and expensive in concrete.
Overview
Most of our clients are deciding on a house from another country, on a lot they have visited once. A render is how that decision gets made responsibly. We model the actual topography and the actual view corridor, run the sun at the right latitude, and place the house in its real surroundings — so what you approve is what gets built, and the surprises happen on screen where they cost nothing.
What's included
- Photorealistic exterior renders placed on your surveyed topography
- Interior renders with the specified real finishes and materials
- Sun and shadow studies at the correct latitude and season
- Animated walkthroughs and drone-perspective view verification
- Real-time VR walkthrough for remote clients
- Material and finish boards coordinated with the render set
How it runs
Four stages, in this order.
- 01
Site & model build
Survey topography, view corridors and surrounding context modelled from real data, not approximated.
- 02
Massing views
Quick studies to settle orientation, height and the view corridor before detail is invested.
- 03
Material application
The finishes actually specified, so the render is a decision tool rather than an illustration.
- 04
Final render set
High-resolution stills, sun studies and walkthrough delivered for approval and for permitting presentation.
Local practice
Built to Costa Rican standards, not imported ones.
Whatever the service, the underlying method is the same. Structure is reinforced concrete block and beam or light-gauge steel, sized against the seismic zone your lot sits in. Overhangs are deep enough to keep driving rain off the walls. Foundations are raised and drained. Timber is treated or naturally resistant, and detailed to stay out of ground contact.
These are not preferences. They are what has been shown to survive here, and they are why we do not simply execute a set of plans drawn for a different climate without redesigning the parts that would fail.

Questions
3D Design & Rendering in Costa Rica
How accurate are the renders to the finished house?
We model from the surveyed topography and the specified materials, so geometry and sightlines are accurate. Light and vegetation are interpreted, but the view from the terrace and the way the sun hits the west wall in April are both real outputs.
Can I get renders before committing to the full build?
Yes. Visualization is available as a standalone service, and many clients use it to evaluate a lot before purchase — particularly to test whether the view they are paying for actually survives the setback and height rules.
Do renders help with permitting?
They help with HOA and gated-community design review, and with presenting a project to neighbours or investors. The municipal permit itself is granted on the technical drawing set, not the visualization.
Next step
Tell us about the lot.
Send us the plano catastrado and a rough idea of what you want to build. We will come back with a feasibility read on what the site actually allows, what it is likely to cost, and how long permitting will take in your cantón.
